Terms & Conditions

General information

The organiser of the Urban Impact Pitch Competition (herein 'Pitch Competition') is Impact Shakers Labs VZW.

Submitting an application and actively opting in to accept the terms of entry will be deemed as acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

By completing and submitting the online entry form available at, the applicant will fully and unreservedly agree to all of the terms and conditions of the Pitch Competition. If you do not agree with any of the terms or conditions, then you should not take part in the competition.

Once you have submitted your application, we reserve the right to send you further correspondence. You can opt out from receiving further emails anytime by sending an email to us or by clicking ‘unsubscribe’.

Entry process

Applications open on Sept 19th 2023 and close on Oct 9th 2023 at 23h59 (CET). 

Applications must be submitted before 23h59 Oct 9th to be eligible to participate in the Pitch Competition.

Only one person per company is eligible for application. The person in question must be Founder or Co-founder of the company.

Eligibility for entry: minimum age of 18. Proof of age may be required.

Data processing 

By applying to the Pitch Competition, you agree that we will store the entry materials in our database. Your data will be accessed by Impact Shakers as well as the appointed judges.

Applicants grant Impact Shakers the license to use the data collected for all purposes including, but not limited to, post-promotion, sharing relevant information and the opportunity to offer the results to the media. Data collected may be passed on to carefully selected third parties in accordance with the data protection act.


Copyright to the entries will remain with the applicant but the applicant licenses Impact Shakers to use their names and logos to promote it across websites and social media.


Impact Shakers will pre-select and appoint an international jury of renowned impact and startup ecosystem players. Names, companies and portraits of jury members will be made public on the Pitch Competition website.

Impact Shakers will organise, select and manage the jury, which will be instructed to act without bias or favour. If a potential conflict of interest arises, the respective jury member will refrain from analysing the applicant in question.

Judging process

We will shortlist the top 16 startups to participate in the live Pitch Competition at the Startup Guide Summit.

Once selected, we’ll announce the finalists on 16 October 2023.

The negotiations by the investing partner will start on the day of the Summit, the process will continue after the event and will be subject to due diligence and in some cases also the voting of the members of the investing party.


We offer the following prizes to a number of finalists of the Pitch Competition:

a. Main prize: Start of negotiations and due diligence with the Impact Shakers Microfund for 10k investment (subject to due diligence and further negotiations).

b. The jury will appoint a jury winner on the day itself, prize is to be confirmed.

c. We reserve the right to add further prizes. 


Impact Shakers reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. In the event that this happens, this document will be updated with the amended terms.

If an insufficient number of eligible entries (as determined by Impact Shakers in its sole discretion) are not received by the closing date, Impact Shakers reserves the right not to award a prize or carry out the competition.
