Systemic Investing
in an Ecosystem Approach

Impact Shakers Ventures goes beyond impact investing by:

Selecting investments for systemic impact potential

by looking for businesses that are targeting root causes of social and environmental challenges with solutions that implement new economic thinking rather than just mitigating symptoms.

by providing support for inner development and wellbeing and holding ourselves accountable for learning alongside startups and translating insights into action.

Our Impact Strategy

The capital we invest is one of the core elements in our work to support the transition to the impact economy. We believe that entrepreneurship holds the power to change the world and we invest in entrepreneurs whose bold ideas will accelerate our progress towards a more inclusive and sustainable world.

In order to support this transition, we work to evolve who gets to build business, for which purposes and how we build them. As a fieldbuilder and impact ecosystem investor, we are working to constantly evolve our thinking and methodologies to assess the impact potential of the projects we finance.

Our Theory of Change

helps to keep our eye on the prize, to keep our long term vision and mission in check and to share with others what we do and how we intend to move forward.

Our Impact Principles

guide us in our process to select and support the founders and businesses we work with. These principles reflect our beliefs about what kind of businesses are needed in the impact economy and put our values into practice.

Impact Readiness Levels

The Impact Readiness Levels (IRLs) provide a framework for tracking the progress and development of a lockstep impact business model from initial intention to creating impact at scale. It highlights three key dimensions that co-evolve, helping to embed impact at the core of the business as it grows.

Impact in our
Investment Process

Our 11 Impact Principles guide us in our process to select the founders and businesses we work with. These principles reflect our beliefs about what kind of businesses are needed in the impact economy and put our values into practice. We designed the full process to enable us to select the founders that embody our vision and values the most.
